I think many will agree when I say that all we really wanted to do in Mass Effect 3 was to destroy the reapers and be reunited with our crew. There were many confusions in Mass Effect 3, for example, why was the Normandy flying through the Mass Effect Relay in the first place during the ending? Did the Normandy really have to be ripped to shreds? Why couldn't the Crucible be a weapon, like we thought it would be throughout the entire game? There are many unanswered questions, so I'll stop here before I start to rant.
Regardless of how you choose to end the story, the outcome is the same overall.
Commander Shepard is killed, and the Mass Effect Relays are destroyed. However, in Mass Effect 3, although there are 3 possible outcomes, all 3 lead to the same conclusion. Throughout Mass Effect 1 and 2, the decisions we made could drastically affect the game play. The ending of Mass Effect 3 did not fit in with the story line in any shape or form.
